In Rio De Janeiro, Brazil football is life itself. Everyone plays from dawn until well past dusk. For individuals with visual impairments the game is accessible through 5 a side football. It is the same game with a few modifications.
This short clip explores “Blind Football,” a highly competitive sport played by blind and partially-sighted athletes. Watch as one of the top teams in Brazil tries to pull a new player out of isolation.
This sport is a Paralympic event and will be featured at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
