Paralympic Gold Medal Podium Experience: Maureen McKinnon
At the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games Maureen McKinnon made history a she was the first female to compete in sailing and represent Team USA. McKinnon and Skipper Nick Scandone won the Skud 18 class. Here she will make you feel what it’s like to receive a gold medal on top of the Paralympic podium.
On August 4, 2016 Spaulding Rehabilitation Network hosted a celebration to mark the start of the Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympics. Paralympian Dr. Cheri Blauwet introducted a great panel made up of Paralympic athlete Maureen McKinnon (sailing), Jerome Singleton (Track) and Paralympic hopeful Josh Winsper (Field: Throwing). WGBH and MEDAL QUEST’s Executive Producer Judith Vecchione moderated the panel.
